Food at nursery

We are dedicated to supporting the health, development and well-being of every child through the provision of healthy, balanced and nutritious meals and snacks at nursery. Please see out Food and Nutrition Policy for more details.

Every day we provide a free healthy breakfast, mid-morning and afternoon snack for all the children who attend in those sessions.

We encourage the children who attend for full day sessions to have a nursery cooked meal. Having a nursery dinner helps to prepare your child for primary school. They will learn how to use a knife and fork, cut up their own food, pour their own drink, wait their turn to be served and how to clear their plate away at the end of each course.

Children who are eligible for free school meals will get this meal paid for by Birmingham City Council. Other families pay for this meal at a cost of £2:40 per day. If you are struggling to pay for your child's lunchtime meal please come and speak to the school office so alternative options can be discussed.

We order our school meals a week in advance from an external provider so refunds for a child's absence cannot be given.
